Will Harry Kane play for England vs Ghana in FIFA World Cup?

England and Ghana will face each other for the first time in a competitive game at the FIFA World Cup.

England, under Thomas Tuchel, are seen as one of the top favourites to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup. More than that, the German technician seems to be on a mission to become the first manager in World Cup history to win the tournament as a foreign manager.

While the English team is stacked with players capable of starting for any team across the globe, there is one player who has been phenomenal. Harry Kane, who enjoyed an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, is one of the frontrunners to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Kane also gave the 1966 champions a head start in the opening clash against Croatia by scoring a brace. His performance on Matchday 1 put him among the likes of Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who are battling for the World Cup Golden Boot.

As England’s frontman, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has the responsibility of leading the side’s attack, and he has been doing a prolific job. Thus, fans are keen to watch the Englishman take the field and score goals. But will the 32-year-old be a part of the Three Lions when they face Ghana on MD 2?

Will Harry Kane start tonight in the FIFA World Cup against Ghana?

Despite a minor injury scare during the Three Lions’ opening game of the summer competition, Harry Kane is likely to start the upcoming game against Ghana. Against Croatia, the Bayern Munich star was seen with a strapping on his leg; however, it was only a minor cramp.

Ahead of England’s second group stage clash, Harry Kane trained with the team and is fit for the MD 2 game. Kane has established himself as the most prolific attacking option for the Three Lions. The 32-year-old has scored 81 goals for England in 115 games.

However, if Harry Kane gets injured, he will be replaced by either Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney, who also have the potential to turn up and score in big games. Both forwards were on the bench against Croatia. Toney currently plays for Saudi Pro League side AL-Ahli, while Watkins is a key player for Aston Villa in the Premier League.
