Julian Nagelsmann issues injury update on Arsenal star Kai Havertz

The German centre-forward Kai Havertz has nine goal involvements, including all competitions this season.

Atletico Madrid are now gearing up to visit the Emirates Stadium as they take on Arsenal next. It will be an intense second-leg semi-final fixture of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners surely have a stacked roster, but the upcoming fixture is not going to be an easy outing for them. In the away leg against the Diego Simeone-led side, the North London club were only able to secure a 1-1 draw.

Arsenal will be looking to fancy their chances at home. For a positive result, they must avoid giving chances to Atletico Madrid, as it can make things difficult for them.

During the 2024-25 season, the Gunners were knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League semifinals. This time around, they will be keen to secure a spot in the final. It will be interesting to see Mikel Arteta leading Arsenal to the UCL final after almost two decades.

They are yet to win the elite European competition and are also closing in on the English Premier League title. It will be a tough job for them to secure a double. Mikel Arteta’s men are not in the best run of form at the moment, but they will be ready to put up a top show.

Kai Havertz was not part of Arsenal’s squad for the first leg against Atletico Madrid, and even for the Premier League clash against Fulham.

Mikel Arteta has now confirmed that both Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard are going to be a part of the squad for the Champions League semifinal second leg against Atleti.

“Yes, they are available. They are in the squad, both of them.

“We need options, we need the capacity to play different games tomorrow, whether it’s from the start or after. So it’s really, really good news for us to have them both back,” mentioned Arteta during the pre-match press conference.

Even though the manager has confirmed their availability, Kai Havertz and Odegaard are not guaranteed to start at the moment.
