The Frenchman has completed his one-match ban.
When Real Madrid face Getafe at the Coliseum in the south of the Spanish capital tonight, they will continue their pursuit of the LaLiga championship.
Getafe will enter the midweek match in 12th place, while Los Blancos are in second place, seven points behind Barcelona.
After their previous quarterfinal match against Arsenal ended their Champions League trophy defence, Madrid are now concentrating on their goal of completing a domestic double.
Los Blancos will play Getafe on the road in midweek to continue defending their league title, but they will again return to action for Saturday’s Copa del Rey final in Sevilla against El Clasico rivals Barcelona, where they will try to exact revenge for the two crushing losses they suffered previously against Hansi Flick’s team this season.
After suffering an ankle injury during last week’s Champions League loss to Arsenal, Real Madrid’s top scorer, Mbappe, is out for tonight’s meeting even though he has completed his one-match suspension for the red card he received against Alaves.
Will Kylian Mbappe play tonight?
Mbappe has been ruled out for tonight’s game against Getafe by Carlo Ancelotti, but he will be back for Madrid’s Copa del Rey final matchup with Barcelona.
Following an embarrassing tumble during a violent altercation with Declan Rice, the 25-year-old hobbled off in the 75th minute of Real Madrid’s 2-1 second leg loss to Arsenal in the Champions League quarterfinals. Due to his obvious discomfort, Mbappe had to be replaced, and Brahim Diaz took his position on the field.
During Sunday’s home match against Athletic Club, Los Blancos had to squeeze out a win in the dying minutes of the game without their lucky forward, as he was serving a suspension.
Real boss Carlo Ancelotti provided an update on Mbappe and left-back Ferland Mendy: “They are not ready just yet, but they will train over the next few days. I believe both should be fit by Saturday.”
