Carlo Ancelotti has updated on the Frenchman’s availability for tonight’s game.

Real Madrid’s LaLiga title bid took a hit on Saturday as they travelled to the RCDE Stadium and lost to relegation-threatened Espanyol by a slim margin of 1-0. Carlos Romero’s goal helped his side secure three points, who was also lucky to avoid a red card for an earlier tackle on Kylian Mbappe.

Leaders Real Madrid are currently only one point ahead of second-place Atletico Madrid following their first league loss since December 4 ahead of their derby matchup at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

However, their priority will be defeating Leganes tonight in Copa del Rey to secure their place in the semi-final of the competition. But the Los Blancos will also miss a few of their star players.

Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on Kylian Mbappe’s availability for tonight’s game. The Frenchman has been in terrific form for the Spanish capital since the start of the new year and has been scoring goals left and right.

Will Kylian Mbappe play tonight?

On Tuesday, Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Kylian Mbappe is not a part of the traveling squad and will miss the team’s Copa del Rey quarterfinal matchup against Leganes due to a bruised calf.

The Frenchman will not be travelling with the team and will not play in Real Madrid’s match against Leganes tonight. Without Mbappé on the field, Los Blancos will have to punch their ticket to the Copa del Rey semifinals.

But the former PSG star’s injury isn’t serious, and he will start training with the team for their next game and join the squad for their home game against Atletico Madrid.

The France captain is expected to spearhead Real Madrid’s attack against Diego Simeone’s team despite suffering an injury during the previous encounter between the rivals in September. His addition for Saturday’s LaLiga game will be crucial for Madrid given they have been ravaged by injuries.
