Manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Neymar Jr is fully cleared and available for the big clash against Scotland, an update heavily celebrated by the Brazilian fans. However, he is not certain to start to avoid any further complications.

Neymar Jr was initially kept out of Brazil’s playing squad for the first two group stage fixtures against Morocco and Haiti after failing to participate in the team’s initial tactical training, as the player was undergoing intense lower-leg rehabilitation.

His injury concerns started after Neymar clutched his leg during Santos’s 3-0 defeat against Coritiba in a Brasileiro Série A fixture on May 17. He was substituted immediately, after which the player was subjected to a detailed medical examination.

Tests revealed that Neymar suffered a grade-two tear in his right calf muscle, effectively ruling him out of Brazil’s pre-tournament warm-up matches. To make him available for the World Cup, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) agreed on a highly disciplined recovery program to efficiently fast-track his return to the pitch

Brazilian medical authorities reviewed his physical conditioning tests, allowing the player to be fully available for selection against Scotland. However, he is expected to begin his return from the bench to avoid further risks and gradually rebuild his match readiness.
