Although Santos’ season has been filled with ups and downs, the team generally performs competitively in national competitions. The team’s inconsistent performance, particularly when facing elite Serie A opponents, is evident as they swing between costly losses and emphatic victories.
Santos’ attack has improved in recent rounds; they can find the net and generate opportunities, but defensive errors still happen. Tense games where the outcome is decided at the very end are interspersed with victories over teams in the middle of the table.
They will need to improve as the season progresses in order to avoid fighting for survival in the league, as they cannot once again fight relegation like last season.

However, with Santos now shifting their attention to the Brazilian Cup, Neymar will be hoping to be in the lineup to play tonight and lead the team to the next round.

Neymar might play tonight, but it’s not fully confirmed as the Santos’ medical team are also managing his minutes on the pitch. However, he will still be hoping to play today and be a difference maker as Santos continues to struggle on all fronts.
