The Brazilian’s return still remains uncertain due to injury.
After two matches, Neymar’s Santos are in 16th place. They are working to move up out of the lowest parts of the Serie A standings into a safer spot. Despite their current position, the club have been playing well away from home, failing to score in only one of their last 20 games.
The “Peixe” depend on the attacking players’ quickness and try to take advantage of every chance to go past the opposition’s defence. They haven’t always had a good head-to-head record against Fluminense, though, as the hosts have recently beaten them frequently.
However, this will once again be a significant test for the team to overcome one of the best teams in the Brazilian league. But this season, even Fluminense have fared poorly as they sit 11th in the table. They have won and have won only once in their previous two matches.
This will be a head-to-head match as both teams will strive to get their hands on three points. Sanots, who are yet to register a win this season, will be desperate to search for victory.
They will need their star players to step up. One of the biggest names in the squad, Neymar Jr, is yet to return from the injury and will be missed badly by the club.
Will Neymar play tonight?
As Santos get ready for their upcoming match against Fluminense tonight, their megastar is likely to miss the game. It’s unclear when Neymar will be fully recovered.
Despite missing recent weeks due to a muscle injury, Neymar appeared to be pushing himself in what appeared to be a positive fitness update.
About 18 months have passed since Neymar’s recurring injury setbacks, most of which occurred during a terrible run at Al-Hilal. But he has recovered his spark at Santos. They can anticipate the 33-year-old is back fit and flying soon.
Santos have adopted a new plan to “boost his recovery and strengthening” in a bid to keep him off the medical table for long.
