The Brazilian is ready to bear pain and play tonight.
According to multiple sources, Neymar is prepared to play through pain to help Santos in their battle against relegation.
Due to soreness in his left knee during the match against Mirassol on November 19, the Brazilian forward missed Monday’s 1-1 league tie against Internacional as a precaution.
According to sources, the 33-year-old will probably need arthroscopic surgery to fix a meniscus issue in his left knee at the end of the season.
Neymar practised with Santos on Wednesday despite medical advice, and he might be part of the team for tonight’s league match against Sport. Santos’ medical staff opted against Neymar playing, despite his desire to do so.
For Neymar to come back for Santos’ final two league games against Cruzeiro and Juventude, they want him to continue receiving conservative treatment.
Will Neymar play tonight?

Marcelo Teixeira, president of Santos, is hopeful that Neymar will play tonight but maintains that no decision will be made that would jeopardise the player’s health.
“It’s about expectation and hope,” Teixeira said.
“I’m not a doctor, nor do I follow the decisions, which should be exclusive to the health department. As I said, he trained, trained well, didn’t feel anything, we’ll evaluate him again. It’s not the board that evaluates, it’s the club’s professionals who evaluate this.”
With one point and one spot outside of safety, Santos are in the relegation zone. Two years ago, Neymar underwent surgery on his left knee to repair a torn meniscus and ACL.
Since returning to his childhood club in January, the Brazil international, who hopes to participate in his fourth World Cup next year, has battled fitness issues.
