Top five youngest Manchester United players to score hat-tricks in Premier League

Amad Diallo becomes another young Red Devils player to net a PL hat-trick.

Manchester United have been graced by many top players since their inception. Many of those etched their names in the history book of the club with some receiving legendary status after contributing goals for the club, leading to silverware in most of the seasons. However, there are only a few players who have set many tough records to beat.

In this piece, we will take a look at the top five youngest Manchester United players to score hat-tricks in the Premier League.

5. Shinji Kagawa: 23y 350d

Before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2010, Kagawa started his professional career at Cerezo Osaka in his native country. Following two years at Dortmund, Kagawa agreed to a four-year contract with Manchester United, where he made history and rose to prominence as an Asian player.

He was also among the top five Man United youngest players to score a hat-trick. His treble came against Norwich City when the Red Devils defeated them 4-0.

4. Andrew Cole: 23y 140d

Andrew Cole played as a forward for the Red Devils. His tenure with Manchester United, who spent a British record transfer fee to sign him from Newcastle United, is what most people remember about his two-decade-long professional career (1988–2008).

Cole won nine trophies during his six years with Manchester United, including five Premier League crowns and the 1999 Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League treble. In addition, he was one of the youngest United players to score a hat-trick during the team’s 9-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo: 22y 341d

When he was 22 years and 341 days old in January 2008, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his hat-trick in a 6-0 victory over Newcastle, making him club’s one of the youngest players to do so. Before making a well-publicized move to Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo established himself as a legend at Manchester United and smashed numerous records.

The now 39-year-old has scored numerous goals and hat-tricks in addition to winning numerous titles.

2. Amad Diallo: 22y 189d

At Old Trafford, Amad became one of the quickest players in the history of the Premier League to rack up a hat-trick with goals in the 82nd, 90th, and fourth minutes of stoppage time. He became the second youngest United player to score a hat trick, at the age of 22 years 189 days.

Team legend Wayne Rooney, who accomplished the feat against Bolton Wanderers in 2006, is the only player who has scored a hat-trick in the English Premier League at a younger age for Manchester United than Amad. In addition, Amad is the first Manchester United player to rack up three goals in the Premier League since Cristiano Ronaldo did so against Norwich City in April 2022.

1. Wayne Rooney: 21y 004d

Wayne Rooney continues to hold the record for being the youngest Man United player to score a hat trick in a Premier League game. On October 28, 2006, he achieved that feat against Bolton Wanderers at the age of 21 years and 4 days.

Rooney was United’s most well-known player and swiftly rose to the top of the team’s popularity thanks to his talent and capacity for significant influence. After scoring his first goal off an over-the-top ball, he went on the rampage against a weak Bolton defence for the remainder of the game, leading to a 4-0 triumph.
