The Red Devils have played two pre-season friendlies prior to their USA tour.

Premier League juggernauts Manchester United have already kicked off their pre-season preparations for the summer. They are now set to travel to the United States for a pre-season tour in order to get ready for the upcoming 2024–25 season.

For a second consecutive year, the Red Devils will have a scheduled pre-season tour in the USA under manager Erik ten Hag. During this tour, they are set to face Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool.

To commence the tour, United will face Arsenal in their opening match at the SoFi Stadium. This will be followed by an exciting clash against LaLiga outfit Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium.

To conclude their pre-season tour, the Red Devils will lock horns with arch-rivals Liverpool in a mouth-watering encounter at the William-Brice Stadium. Just a week following that, Manchester United will face Manchester City in the FA Community Shield.

However, a much younger-looking Manchester United squad with a lot of talented academy players is expected to travel for the USA pre-season tour. Many first-team regulars, such as Kobbie Mainoo, Joshua Zirkzee, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Facundo Pellistri, will not be involved in the tour. This is due to all these players getting an extended vacation after reaching the knockout stages of either Euro 2024 or Copa America with their respective countries.

This has left Erik ten Hag with just a limited set of first-team players to choose from for the crucial pre-season tour in the United States. New signing Leny Yoro is also set to travel for the tour as a part of the squad.

Prior to the tour, the Red Devils have already played two pre-season friendlies so far, with a record of one win and one defeat to their name.

In their first match, Manchester United suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Norwegian club Rosenborg, due to forward Noah Holm’s last-ditch winner. However, Erik ten Hag’s side responded in perfect fashion during their second game as they toppled Scottish giants Rangers by a scoreline of 2-0, courtesy of goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill.

Manchester United have also been very proactive on the transfer market this summer, already completing two big signings so far in the form of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
