The Spaniard is only the sixth driver in history to achieve this marvelous feat

Micheal Schumacher was the undisputed king of F1 back in the early 2000s, and as his years were slowly coming to an end, everyone wondered who would be the next big thing in F1, who would topple the king from his throne, and render himself as the next superstar. As Speculations and predictions arised and people placed their bets, a slowly emerged from the high-rising mountains of Asturias, a young and talented Fernando Alonso.

Fernando made his F1 debut in 2001, at the mere age of 19 and soon stamped his foothold on the entire community, as he broke every one of the records of that time. Alonso enjoyed big-time success in the years that followed and became F1’s youngest pole sitter, race winner, world champion and double world champion of that time.

Fernando became a global star in F1 and enjoyed some beautiful years between 2005 and 2014, after which he joined Mclaren and welcomed the most difficult period in his racing career, as the Spanish legend failed to register a single podium finish in the coming five years with Mclaren Racing.

After this poor stint, Fernando took two years off from F1 racing, participated in Le Mans, and won it two times in a row, before once again coming back in Formula 1 in 2021. His next two seasons were decent, and the driver managed to put on some brilliant performances on the track.

But it is his 2023 season, which at the moment is bringing about awe and sweet nostalgia to all of the F1 fans, as Alonso is once again performing at his very best, and has registered two podium finishes in the season's first two races.

Yesterday, with his dramatic podium finish in the Saudi Arabian GP, Alonso now has a total of 100 podium finishes in Formula 1 and has further added his name to the history books of Motorsport. The Spanish linchpin is only the sixth driver in history, and the first Spanish driver to claim 100 podium finishes.
