Formula 1: Everything you need to know about Miami GP 2023
This will be the first of three Grand Prix races in the United States in the F1 2023 season.
Formula 1 (F1) will be now moving to the United States for the fifth race of the season at the Miami Grand Prix (Miami GP 2023). This will be the first of three races scheduled in the USA in the F1 2023 season.
The Miami International Autodrome circuit in Florida debuted in the F1 schedule in the 2022 season. Red Bull’s star driver Max Verstappen won the inaugural race at Miami, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished behind him.
Whereas the Formula 1 Miami GP track is a street track, the 5.41-kilometre features 19 corners. It is a temporary circuit, which is constructed and disassembled every year for the F1 event.
Standings
The F1 2023 season kicked off with Bahrain GP, and now after the last race weekend at Azerbaijan GP, Red Bull driver duo, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have dominated the current season with two wins each this season, after completion of four races.
In the 2023 Drivers Standings, Dutchman Verstappen is at the top with 93 points, while Perez is behind his teammate with 87. Veteran driver and two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso is in the third spot with 60 points.
In the Constructor Standings, defending champions Red Bull has taken a comfortable lead at the start of the season, with 180 points. Aston Martin, at second, is way behind the four-time champions, with 87 points.
Sergio Perez has shaken Max Verstappen’s throne
Defending champion, Max will be looking to further increase the gap from Perez, as the 33-year-old is cruising towards his teammate, with the last race win at Baku GP.
In the last race weekend at Azerbaijan GP, Perez secured his sixth career win and created history, as he became the first driver to win the grand prix twice at Baku, while Verstappen secured the runner-up position.
The Mexican driver now sits just six points behind the 25-year-old in the 2023 Drivers Standings, with both Red Bull drivers having won two races each after four rounds of 24 races scheduled this season.
