The inaugural Barcelona-Catalunya GP debuts this Sunday.

The inaugural Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix makes its debut on the F1 calendar this week. The track that has hosted the official Spanish Grand Prix has entered a rotational slot (hosted in even-numbered years) with the Belgian Grand Prix through 2032, as Spain’s capital city, Madrid, is set to host the official Spanish Grand Prix in September, 2026.

The circuit first hosted Formula 1 in 1991, and with Madrid’s inclusion, Spain is set to host two F1 Grand Prixs since the 2012 season. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri won the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, but the recent change means the winner has the chance to be the first winner of the inaugural GP.

The 7th round of the 2026 season will follow the Monaco GP last week, which saw Kimi Antonelli clinch his fifth consecutive win and become the youngest driver to win the Monaco GP.

Lewis Hamilton, who earlier held the record, finished second, while Alpine’s Pierre Gasly clinched third position after Alpine’s Right of Review request proved successful.

Antonelli is the clear betting favorite to win the Barcelona GP, while his teammate, George Russell, needs a come-from-behind win to salvage his 2026 championship hope, as he has slipped to the third spot behind Hamilton, after finishing in 12th place in Monaco due to penalties. Kimi has built a 68-point deficit between himself and Russell in the driver standings.

Let us now take a look at the race start time for the Barcelona-Catalunya GP 2026 in India, the UK, the USA, and more regions.
