The 2025 Canadian GP will take place at the famous Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve!
F1 is heading across the Atlantic for the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. This is going to be one of the five races before entering the summer break. After a short pause following a busy triple header, the action now shifts to Montreal for round 10 of the season.
The race will take place at the famous Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Notre Dame Island, known for its iconic “Wall of Champions”. It’s a fan favourite circuit that has never failed to deliver a high-stakes race every year.
Ahead of the race, here is everything you need to know about the F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2025.
The Season So Far
Standing at the top of the chart, Oscar Piastri is currently leading the pack. The race in Spain marked his fifth race of the season with a total of 186 points. His teammate, Lando Norris, is close behind, with just 10 points off.
On the other hand, it seems like a tough season for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman is third, but he lost valuable ground after a 10-second penalty in Barcelona pushed him down the order.
Now trailing Piastri by 49 points, Verstappen will be looking to turn things around in the upcoming race. Verstappen has already won three races in a row at the Montreal track and has more familiarity with the track than others.
However, with one more penalty point threatening a race ban, the pressure is on. Mercedes and Ferrari are locked in a tight fight behind the leaders. George Russell managed to bring home a podium in Canada last year and will be hoping for a repeat this time.
Ferrari moved ahead of Red Bull in the Constructors’ standings thanks to Charles Leclerc’s podium in Spain. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is looking to bounce back after a difficult run of races.
