Max Verstappen won the last edition of the GP

The fifth race of the season is just around the corner as Formula 1 (F1) now pitches up on the shores of the Red Sea in Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian GP 2025. The race will take place at the fast and challenging Jeddah Corniche Circuit, a street race that is known for its tight corners, narrow walls and long straights.

The upcoming race is going to be the last part of F1’s triple-header of 2025. As the title fight is already heating up, fans can expect plenty of drama under the lights in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

A tight championship battle

The 2025 season started with a bang. Currently, McLaren is the team to beat, winning three out of the four races. Oscar Piastri has been in top form since the beginning of the season. He’s now just 3 points behind his teammate Lando Norris, who leads the championship.

Max Verstappen is only 8 points behind Norris, while George Russell is 14 points away after a strong second-place finish in Bahrain.

McLaren is also leading the Constructors’ Championship by 48 points ahead of Mercedes. Red Bull stands at the third with 71 points on the table. Ferrari is hoping to keep improving too, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc still looking for their first podiums of the year.

How’s the circuit?

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is known for being one of the fastest and dangerous tracks in F1. It is the third-largest track and officially the fastest street circuit on the calendar.

This first race took place in 2021, with Lewis Hamilton winning it. Since then, Red Bull has won three times – twice with Verstappen and once with Sergio Perez. But this year, with Red Bull facing some problems, McLaren might take the win.
