Isack Hadjar picked up a wrist injury during F1’s summer break.

Red Bull Racing’s Isack Hadjar will miss the upcoming Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix 2026, as per a report from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf. The report notes that Hadjar suffered a wrist injury during F1’s summer break, casting serious doubt over his participation at Zandvoort.

Hadjar sustained the injury during a gym session in preparation for the race in Zandvoort. While being ruled out currently appears most likely, a final decision on his availability has yet to be made.

The summer break, which began after the Hungarian Grand Prix, has come to an end as teams prepare for the Dutch GP this weekend. With the report of Hadjar’s injury, speculation on who could replace him has begun.

Liam Lawson will be called up to partner Max Verstappen

The report also noted that Liam Lawson is ready to replace Hadjar and partner Max Verstappen at Zandvoort. If confirmed, this will mark Lawson’s return to the flagship team after a controversial demotion last year that saw him demoted from the Red Bull team back to sister team Racing Bulls after just two races.

Notably, Lawson’s F1 career began with a similar situation at the Dutch GP three years ago, when he was called up after then-AlphaTauri (Racing Bulls) driver Daniel Ricciardo suffered a broken hand in a practice crash.

The potential reshuffle would also see Yuki Tsunoda return to Racing Bulls, replacing Lawson. Tsunoda earned a brief promotion to Red Bull Racing last year, where he replaced Lawson.

At the end of 2025, Tsunoda was replaced by Hadjar, who became the test and reserve driver for both Red Bull and Racing Bulls.

The 2026 edition of the Dutch GP is scheduled to be the final F1 race at Zandvoort. The circuit will leave the F1 calendar after this season
