A historic win over NRG!

After many tries and hard work, 100 Thieves has finally won their first International VALORANT title. They defeated NRG 3-1 in the grand final of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026.

With this win, they have earned $600,000 in prize money and 1,000 EWC Club Championship points. The duelist Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban was given the tournament’s MVP award as well. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Overcame NRG to lift the trophy!

Both teams were in amazing form throughout the tournament. The final could have gone any way, but it was 100 Thieves who controlled the majority of the match and claimed the final by 3-1.

NRG got momentum late in the series, but 100 Thieves was able to calm down and win the trophy in the fourth map.

It is the most important win for the organization in the competitive VALORANT scene since they debuted.

Championship journey

This team was dominant from the start of EWC 2026. Two wins qualified the team out of the group stage and the team beat MIBR.LOS in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, they put up a strong performance to beat the Masters Santiago champions Nongshim RedForce to advance to the tournament final, where they will take on NRG. Here are the final standings:

  • 1st: 100 Thieves — $600,000 + 1,000 Club Points
  • 2nd: NRG — $340,000 + 750 Club Points
  • 3rd: Nongshim RedForce — $220,000 + 500 Club Points
  • 4th: BBL Esports — $140,000 + 300 Club Points

Now that VALORANT is over, the EWC 2026 will move towards the next big competitions. The upcoming week is going to present League of Legends, Dota 2, Free Fire, and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational.
