Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake new details teased by Edward Kenway’s VA

Recently, the fans and gamers are pretty hyped after Matt Ryan, voice actor of Edward Kenway, revealed a major hint for the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake.

During a fan interaction at a convention in Rosemont, Illinois, on June 30, 2025, Ryan gave a pretty huge hint by saying, “Players might have to beat it again.” Let’s find out more in this article.

During the fan meet, Matt Ryan also said, “There’s a reason I say that, but I can’t say anything.” When the fan mentioned replaying all Assassin’s Creed titles, Ryan emphasized, “Especially this one.”

Rumors and leaks have already been going around the internet since 2023. Previously, Insider Gaming also reported that Ubisoft is upgrading the remake with the Anvil Engine.

Leaked gameplay from 2024, kept under wraps, showed Edward Kenway sailing the Jackdaw with better sights and physics.

The remake is expected to release in fall 2025, but recent Ubisoft restructuring might push it back to early 2026.

More evidence emerged in March 2025, when PureArts, a collectibles producer, revealed during a livestream that “something is going on with Edward.”

A host stated that a new Edward Kenway statue would “reflect” impending modifications, implying a revamped appearance for the pirate-assassin.

The lack of Edward from their new figure selection has fueled suspicion that his appearance is being altered for the remake.

Although Ubisoft has not confirmed anything about the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake, but all the leaks, rumors and now hints from the Voice Actor might have revealed their secret.

I am pretty excited for this remake, as Black Flag was my favourite Assassin’s Creed game while I was growing up. I have a special attachment to naval fights and Edward Kenway.
