Wizarding world is about to get bigger!
All the Potterhead and community are pretty excited after learning the latest news that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in development, alongside a possible expanded version of the original game.
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reported that Avalanche Software, the studio behind the first game, is working on both projects. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Hogwarts Legacy 2: A Sequel with High Stakes
Warner Bros. has previously hinted about the possible sequel for the game which they consider as one of their “biggest priorities” for the coming years. However, Schreier says that there are internal doubts about repeating the previous game’s phenomenal success. Hogwarts Legacy was 2023’s best-selling game, selling over 34 million units, leaving executives wondering if the sequel will match—or even exceed—that success, or if demand has already peaked.
While fans are waiting for the Hogwarts Legacy 2, Avalanche Software is also revisiting the original game. Studio has previously added some features like Photo mode and mod support, but there was still no DLC released for the game.
That is about to change, according to Schreier, who predicts that new content will be available later this year. Interestingly, elements of Rocksteady Studios, known for the Batman: Arkham series, have apparently been invited in to help with this development, following the difficulties encountered with their Suicide Squad project.

Apart from this, the report also delves into the recent struggles of Warner Bros. with the Wonder Woman game. It has been three years since the game was announced and since then it has cost more than $100 million so far. The reports suggest that the game is still years away from the release. Monolith Productions are working behind this game.
Despite some bad and good news, the fans are happy with the Wizarding World situation as they will be getting an expansion, a new game and also an upcoming live-action series. Overall, Harry Potter fans are eating well in the upcoming years.
