Larian Studios, the developers behind the GOTY 2023 winner, Baldur’s Gate 3, has started to stir some excitement among the fans by teasing their next game.

They have already confirmed that the studio is currently working on two different projects and a recent social media slip might have teased the next game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Tease for Divinity: Original Sin 3?

Some of the die-hard and eagle-eyed fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 noticed a brief but significant change on Larian’s social media accounts on May 21, 2025.

The official @Larianstudios handle briefly changed to @Divinity before returning, leading to suspicion of a new Divinity project.

Larian Studios has not confirmed anything yet, but the speculation has already begun and there might be something stored up for the fans in Summer Game Fest 2025.

The Divinity series, a staple of Larian’s heritage since 2002, consists of seven games, with Divinity: Original Sin and Original Sin 2 laying the groundwork for Baldur’s Gate 3’s popularity.

What could the new Divinity game be?

For now, it is unclear and speculative whether the studios are really crafting Divinity: Original Sin 3 or a new sub-series within the Divinity universe.

However, fans have full faith in the studio and know that whatever they adapt as their new game, everyone is going to support them.

Recently, Larian Studios has also added a new storytelling department in Guildford, England. This emphasizes that they are looking forward to crafting deeper stories and lore for their upcoming projects.

Larian is expanding operations as a result of the tremendous success of Baldur’s Gate 3, but don’t expect the next Divinity game before 2028, according to CEO Swen Vincke.

Vincke has stated that the studio is also embracing modding groups to increase game longevity.
