Beast of Reincarnation could offer around 30 hours of gameplay
According to director Kota Furushima, players can expect approximately 30 hours of gameplay, which will be spread across 10 distinct stages. There is no doubt that this game is Game Freak’s most ambitious project outside of the Pokémon franchise.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, the director revealed that the game is designed around 10 large stages and the full experience could last around 30 hours.
“There [are] approximately 10 ‘stages’ [spanning] about 30 hours of gameplay.”
Also, an interesting thing to note here is that he didn’t specify whether this estimate only covers the story or also includes the optional side content.
However, each stage will provide enough freedom for the players to explore beyond the main objectives. You can search for hidden items, solve environmental puzzles, and find resources that will be very useful in the game.

Beast of Reincarnation is not a total soulslike
This game’s combat has drawn many comparisons with Dark Souls and Sekiro, but it won’t be a proper soulslike game. Here’s what players can expect:
- Defeated enemies do not respawn after resting.
- Players do not lose progress or resources upon death.
- Previously unlocked locations remain accessible.
- Difficulty settings can be adjusted to suit different playstyles.
Conclusion
In Beast of Reincarnation, we are going to follow Emma and her companion Koo, who is a mysterious creature known as a Malefact. They are both connected through the spreading corruption known as Blight.
In the game, players will experience survival, growth, an emotional story and resilience. This game is set to launch on August 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
