When it comes to WWE games, the 2K franchise has been dominant lately. But the new wrestling games don’t hit the same way as they did back in the day with the old classics.
Wrestling games have been very close to me, as PS1 was my first gaming console and Smackdown 2 was the first game that I ever played. We will rank this list based on fan reviews and other sources.
5. WWE 2K14
I don’t like WWE 2K games; however, this one was quite good. The universe mode and defeat streak mode were both enjoyable to play. Even the 30 years of Wrestlemania mode, where you can play every major Wrestlemania match, were the best part of the game. This game definitely deserves a spot in the best WWE games.
You can play this game on Xbox 360 and PS4.

4. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011
Here comes the classic WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 game with excellent dynamic physics, smooth gameplay, and a more versatile weapon. The ‘Road to Wrestlemania’ feature, which allows us to select and engage in various story arcs, was the game’s best feature. The backstage segment and fights were also the best part of this game, which we do not usually get nowadays in the new WWE games.
You can play this game on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and PSP.
3. WWF No Mercy
Many fans love WWF No Mercy and there are many good reasons for it. Some fans may even argue that this game surpasses all other WWE games. There are so many different types of matches, a great create-a-wrestler mode and over 60 wrestlers in the game. The nostalgia for this game hit differently.
This game can only be played on Nintendo 64.
2. WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role
My personal favorite and one of the best WWE games that has ever been made. I still remember how much time I used to spend playing this game on my PS1 to beat my older sister in the game. Besides Pain, no other wrestling game has brought me more joy and fun during gameplay.
You can only play this game on PlayStation 1.
1. WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain
The GOAT and the grandpa of all wrestling games. Playing royal rumble, ladder and elimination chamber with friends in the gaming cafe every day, that’s how most of us spend our childhood. Many fans still wish that we could get a remaster or even a remake for this. There is no way that the 2K franchise can even match this smooth gameplay.
You can play this game only on PS2.
