Black Myth Zhong Kui announced by Game Science at Gamescom opening night live

Game Science really dropped the bombshell by announcing the Black Myth Zhong Kui, a second entry to the Black Myth series.

Everyone thought that this was going to be a DLC announcement, but Geoff Keighley confirmed that fans will get more content for Black Myth Wukong.

Black Myth Zhong Kui is a completely new entry to the Game Science Black Myth series. This was officially announced at Gamescom 2025 opening night live with the first CGI teaser trailer.

This will be a single-player action role-playing game similar to Black Myth Wukong and draws inspiration from the famed Chinese folk figure “Zhong Kui”. The game is still in early development.

No ghosts walked the earth till born of human heart; Onstage and off, immortals fall to fiends—their perfected art. Indoors and out, the judge is bound by the same household ties; The sun is veiled, the moon unmoved—who decrees who lives and who dies? I turn from worldly tangles and their codes, from glories smeared with sleight. I raise my sword—I raise it to fight; With it, I shall judge wrong and right!

Final Thoughts

I am quite surprised, as I was waiting for the DLC announcement. However, seeing Geoff Keighley confirming that there is more from Game Science in the tank, maybe we might get the DLC announcement tomorrow.

However, I am quite excited about Black Myth Zhong Kui. I knew about Wukong’s story as it’s pretty famous, but I have no idea about Zhong Kui. It would be interesting to see what Game Science is cooking next with this title.
