New loot tier, new region, vault hunter & more
Gearbox Entertainment has now officially announced that the Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon will be released on February 27, 2026, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Apart from this, the studio has also announced the game’s first major expansion, Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, which is scheduled for March 2026.
Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 2 introduces new loot tier
This will be the first major free update for the players, which will bring a brand-new loot rarity tier known as Pearlescent gear.
This is the new loot tier, which sits above the legendary items and offers the most powerful gear in the game. The Pearlescent rarity will also be accessible to players, regardless of whether they own DLC.
The players who will purchase the Bounty Pack 2, will gain access to exclusive Pearlescent-tier items tied specifically to the new content.
Legend of the Stone Demon is the second of five planned Bounty Pack DLCs for the game, and it may be purchased separately or as part of the Bounty Pack Bundle, Deluxe Edition, or Super Deluxe Edition.
Story Pack 1 brings new region and vault hunter
In March 2026, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned will introduce a brand-new region filled with fresh challenges and story missions.
This expansion is also going to add the first post-launch vault hunter in Borderlands 4, C4SH, a gunslinger-themed character.
C4SH is intended to have a distinct combat style centered on dual revolvers and mystery artifacts, with indications of abilities influenced by necromantic powers.
Story Pack 1 is the first of two planned story extensions, and it will be available for purchase separately or as part of the Vault Hunter Pack and Super Deluxe Edition.
