The leaks surfaced on social media and were further reported by The Game Post and Insider Gaming. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Latest Marathon leaks
Despite the strict NDA restriction, the leaks are out from the closed playtest. Many social media users tried to share the information, but later got Bungie’s DMCA strikes.

These factions have received a “total visual overhaul,” including with entrance cinematics that include backstory snippets—exciting for lore enthusiasts!

New runner & maps
Marathon leaks also highlight the new runner: Icon. This was previously teased by Bungie. Fans can expect this runner to be similar to Apex Legends’ Pathfinder.
Icon comes with a drone that automatically loots enemies, providing a new tactical advantage. This deeper reveal has people wondering how Icon would change the gameplay.
On the other hand, there is also some information about the maps and new environments that feature a hazardous zone with burning sparks raining from the sky.
During the most recent playtest, players gained access to a map set on the UESC Marathon spacecraft, marking a significant milestone in the game’s universe.
Conclusion
Month long closed playtest for Bungie’s Marathon has started, with all participants required to play at least one hour daily.
By doing so, they will get a $500 reward after the playtest. There is a pretty good chance that we might see some more leaks or gameplay in the upcoming weeks.
