What to expect from the reveal?

The opening night for Gamescom kicks off on August 19, 2025, at 2p ET / 11a PT / 8p CEST. This is where we might see the first gameplay for Call of Duty Black Ops 7.

This game was first teased back on June 2025 at the Xbox Showcase and this new title will be a sequel to 2012’s Black Ops 2.

Black Ops 7 picks up where 2012’s Black Ops 2 left off, in 2035, when the world is on the verge of anarchy owing to violence and psychological warfare. Led by David Mason, the Black Ops team uses cutting-edge technology to combat an enemy who uses fear as a weapon.

This game is developed partly by Raven Software amid recent Xbox layoffs. The journey so far wasn’t that easy, but they have made it possible and now the fruits of their labor will be showcased at Gamescom 2025 first night.
