Activision & Treyarch have revealed their post-launch plans

Wake up, Call of Duty fans! Treyarch has recently revealed their plans for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1 and the new things they are going to drop after post-launch.

The game is set to release on November 14, 2025 and Treyarch claims that they will be doing their biggest post-launch update this time. It is expected to drop in mid-December and here’s everything you need to know about.

When does Black Ops 7 Season 1 launch?

There is no exact release date; however, it is expected around early or mid-December 2025. Some fans are also speculating that, based on previous patterns, it might be December 4, 2025, mirroring BO6’s three-week post-launch drop.

Everything announced for Black Ops 7 Season 1

Six new maps

Yes, this is true! Treyarch will be dropping six new maps for Season 1. Nuketown ’27 steals the show, debuting on November 20 with a colorful graphic makeover.

  • Standoff: Tense, close-quarters CQB from Black Ops 2, now with modern destruction.
  • Meltdown: That nuclear meltdown fave, rebuilt for frantic flanks and explosive plays.
  • Yakei: Tokyo high-rise vibes echoing BO2’s Vertigo—verticality meets neon nights.
  • Fate: Menendez’s Nicaraguan compound, glimpsed in the reveal trailer—jungle ambushes await.
  • Utopia: Abandoned Aussie Guild lab, perfect for gadget-heavy holdouts.
  • Odysseus: A nod to the BO2 mission, blending naval intrigue with island-hopping firefights.

Seven new weapons: From Bullpups to Throwing Blades

There will be seven new weapons added in Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1, with three of them beign standout.

The Maddox is back from Black Ops 4—a bullpup AR with a high fire rate and quick handling for mid-range sprays. Feeling medieval? The Crossbow fires one-shot bolts (reload after each, no spam) for sneaky pickups. And the ballistic knife? Lethal slot filler—throw it for instant kills, then retrieve like a pro.

For others, there are only rumors around some SMG tweaks and LMG. I won’t be surprised if we might see some meta shaker in the mix as well.

Seasonal surge for Zombies in Black Ops 7 Season 1

Many fans and gamers love the zombies mode in Call of Duty. Treyarch knows this very well and that’s why we are also getting “Ashes of the Damned” co-op campaign.

But that’s not all, as there are three maps—two endless Survival slices carved from the campaign, plus a full round-based epic:

  • Astra Malorum: Brand-new round-based brawl—expect Easter eggs tying into Raul Menendez’s lore.
  • Exit 115: Survival mode on a foggy highway stretch—horde waves meet barricade builds.
  • Zarya Cosmodrome: Cold War cosmodrome redux.

After reading and viewing all of this, you can easily guess that Treyarch has prepared a lot and wants to give the fans, the best post launch update for Black Ops 7.
