The COD League is back
The Call of Duty League 2025 is back and it’s bigger and better, promising fans more thrilling competition and global engagement.
This article will discuss everything we know about the CDL 2025 and Black Ops 6 inclusion in the Esports World Cup. So, let’s get right into it without wasting any more time.
Call of Duty League 2025 season kick-off, format & schedule
The Call of Duty League 2025 season will start on December 6, 2024, with teams gearing up for the new Black Ops 6. Here are the upcoming Major events:
- Major 1: This will be hosted by Toronto Ultra in Madrid, Spain, from January 30 to February 2, following a series of online qualifiers.
- Major 2: This event is scheduled from March 20 to 23 and will be hosted in OpTic Texas in Dallas, Texas. Qualifiers will start from February 14 to March 16.
- Major 3: Miami Heretics will occur in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from April 24 to 27.
- Major 4: While the host and specific dates have yet to be decided, qualifying will run from May 2 to May 18.
This CDL 2025 calendar is for over nine months with four major tournaments and will also include some minor tournaments.
These are a new addition that will keep the battle between the Majors competitive. Each Minor is a three-day, single-elimination event with a $20,000 prize fund that awards considerable CDL points (30 for first, 20 for second, and 10 for third/fourth).
Teams will compete in online qualifiers for four weeks for Majors I and II and three weeks for Majors III and IV, which will lead up to LAN tournaments.
Gameplay and New Teams
This competition will still follow the tried-and-true Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control. The league welcomes Cloud9 (NY), Team Falcons (Vegas), and G2 Esports (Minnesota), bringing new talent and strategies to the Call of Duty League 2025.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in Esports World Cup
Although not part of the official Call of Duty League 2025 calendar, CDL teams will compete in the Esports World Cup in August. Details on participation and qualifying are forthcoming, but it demonstrates Call of Duty’s importance in the global esports arena.
