Infinity Ward’s upcoming COD game, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, is launching on October 23, 2026, which is pretty near to the GTA 6 release. We have seen many publishers and developers dodging the October and November months, as they do not want to compete with Rockstar Games.
However, Infinity War isn’t afraid of the competition. According to studio leadership, they aren’t afraid of the competition and believe that having multiple blockbuster games launching at the same time is a good thing for the gaming industry.

In a recent interview with Destructoid, Infinity Ward co-studio head Mark Grigsby said that they are not afraid of the GTA 6 competition.
The studio head also acknowledged that every Call of Duty release comes with great expectations from the fans and players.
However, this does not mean that the Rockstar Games massive blockbuster title is creating any pressure for them.
Rather, he believes that competition among big games like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite is good for the business, as several big-name releases help keep gaming at the forefront and generate excitement among gamers.
