N7 Agent, Geth Superpower & more details
Following the closure of the BioWare studio and after the leaked Mass Effect 5 trailer was posted online, new details about the game have resurfaced on the internet.
A former member of the Mass Effect Council, DanticsOfficial on X, has shared that he provided valuable feedback during the project’s development.
On X and in the latest YouTube video, he revealed several unknown details about the ambitious sci-fi RPG. Let’s check out some more details in this article.
New story set centuries after the Reaper War
Dantic Optics shared that Mass Effect 5 was set 600 years after the Reaper War. This way, the franchise moves beyond Commander Shepard’s era while also preserving his legacy.
In the new game, players would have stepped into the role of a fully customizable N7 operative. The gameplay was designed around agility and precision, rather than carrying a large arsenal of weapons.
The combat was largely inspired by a blend of John Wick’s close-quarters action and James Bond’s tactical espionage.
Galactic cold war & three superpowers
This time, the story focused on a tense galactic Cold War involving three competing factions.
One of the alliances would include Humans, Krogan, Batarians and other species. The traditional Council races would constitute another political block, and the Geth would be a strong third superpower, with large self-designed megastructures.
The leak also reveals that the story will have been more in-depth on the connection between the Milky Way and Andromeda, which will broaden the franchise’s universe.

New gameplay features & Liara’s return
Mass Effect 5 reportedly featured experimental technology that was implanted in the protagonist. This has allowed players to hack the system, see enemies through walls, manipulate the environment and remotely activate hazards during combat.
With the Hitman series being the one where the player can choose any number of ways to complete objectives, mission design was said to be a blending of the original Mass Effect trilogy’s handcrafted storytelling with the player freedom in the Hitman series.
More additional features:
- Brutal close-range execution animations
- Squadmates capable of disagreeing and clashing with each other
- Romance options that remained faithful to previous games
- The return of Liara, now portrayed as a highly influential Asari Matriarch
