Even Death Stranding 2 is not included!

One of the best turn-based RPGs of this year, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has just been robbed of 2026 Grammy nominees. Even Death Stranding 2 has not been nominated for Grammys for best video game soundtrack.

Everyone surely will agree with me when I say that Clair Obscur had one of the best soundtracks in video game history. Lorien Testard delivered a masterpiece, but on the biggest stage, it seems they got robbed. Let’s check out more details in this article.

No nomination for Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Both Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2, which had some amazing soundtracks this year, have not been nominated for Grammys for best video game soundtrack.

Instead, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Helldivers 2, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Star Wars Outlaws and Sword of the Sea have been nominated.

Ludvig Forssel and Woodkid dropped some amazing music and soundtrack for Death Stranding 2, while Lorien Testard, alone, dropped 177 tracks, including the bonus ones.

Every single one of them is are masterpiece and award worthy. It’s not like they didn’t submit it for the Grammys.

This clearly shows how rigged these awards are and the members who do the process surely do not play the games or even listen to the soundtracks from them. The nomination list speaks for itself.

Fans reactions and final thoughts

As usual, the fans are not happy. Some of them are even making jokes about how Ubisoft even rigged the nomination by providing their trash game, Star Wars: Outlaws.

Jabs at snubbed gems like FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, and Monster Hunter Wilds flew fast, with one lamenting, “A game with amazing soundtrack got snubbed? Now you know how Xenoblade felt.”

At least, we have Game Awards in December 2025, where surely both of these games will find justice. What are your thoughts on this situation? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

FAQs

Why weren’t Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2 nominated?

Both were eligible (released in 2025), but the Recording Academy’s voting body—mostly music pros—may not engage deeply with games. Fans speculate bias toward bigger franchises.

Who are the 2026 Grammy nominees for Best Video Game Soundtrack?

The five: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (Pinar Toprak), Helldivers 2 (Wilbert Roget II), Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Gordy Haab), Star Wars Outlaws (Cody Matthew Johnson & Wilbert Roget II), and Sword of the Sea (Austin Wintory).
