Season 2 ended on June 23, 2025, leaving fans eager for Counter-Strike 2 Season 3. There are already rumors about the iconic Cache map’s return, revamped armory pass and more things.
Based on leaks and community interest, here’s everything we know about Season 3, from a possible premiere date to anticipated adjustments.
When does Counter-Strike 2 Season 3 start?
Counter-Strike 2 Season 3 is expected to start on July 16, 2025, aligning with Valve’s Tuesday or Thursday update schedule for the game.
However, recently, a Reddit thread suggested that the next season will start after limited-time items from the BLAST.tv Austin Major (ending June 22, 2025) expires.

Cache Map return: Hype or Hold?
There is no doubt that the CS2 community and fans are currently hyped for Cache map potential return.
Valve purchased the rights from creator FMPONE, fuelling anticipation that the fan-favorite map could return to the Active Duty pool.
However, some of the experts and fans believed that the remake isn’t fully ready yet. Some are suggesting that Overpass might return instead or Anubis might get some changes.
For now, we can only wait for the official announcement from Counter-Strike.

Premier mode, gameplay updates, new case & more
Counter-Strike 2 Season 3 will reset the Premier mode, offering a fresh competitive grind for the fans and players in the new season.
On the player’s feedback, it is expected that Valve is going to refine the ranking system and also going to tackle the case farming in deathmatch mode.
Weekly challenges will be updated and expanded to keep them fresh and exciting for all players for the next season.
Season 3 could see the release of a new weapon case, potentially replacing an existing one, such as the Kilowatt Case.
Following the Austin Major, memento packages related to playoff matches will include exclusive Highlight Packages containing weapon charms depicting iconic events and redeemable with Viewer Pass tokens.
There are also some rumors that Valve might introduce a robust Armory Pass, an operation-style battle pass in Counter-Strike 2 Season 3.
