On May 8, 2025, the first Death Stranding 2 hands-on preview from journalists will be revealed for the first time. They were invited to Kojima Production Tokyo HQ to try out the game.
Recently, in a TBS radio broadcast, Hideo Kojima gave the status update on the game as well. It appears that the game is 95% complete and they are trying to fix some minor bugs.

Working on fixing bugs
Hideo Kojima’s recent broadcast on koji10_tbs on X was released on May 5, 2025 and was recorded in mid-April.
He talked about the status and completion of his upcoming game, Death Stranding 2. Here’s what he shared with the fans:
- The game is almost complete, 95%. There have been many minor bugs that have appeared. They are in the final bug-fixing stage.
- However, they have already submitted a first version of the game with basic bug checks, so it is almost finished.
- Kojima wants to make a game with no bugs, but it is an open-world game, so having minor bugs can’t be helped.
- Minor issues that remain aren’t game-breaking, such as floating grass or weird regions.
- Kojima has been very busy lately.
- He hopes to have finished the game by the time this show aired (May 5th) and will address as many minor bugs as possible before launch.
It was previously confirmed that the preview coverage and hands-on impression of Death Stranding 2 will be released on May 8, 2025.
Some lucky journalists and gaming reporters were invited to Kojima Production Tokyo HQ, where they got the chance to test out the game.
It would be interesting to see whether this bugs issues has been fixed or not and how the first impression for the game is going to come out.
Death Stranding 2 is scheduled to release on June 26, 2025, on PS5, with a PC release expected in 2026.
