Diablo 5 details
According to Blizzard Entertainment, this game will take place in a post-apocalyptic version of Sanctuary, known as the Fallen Sanctuary. Humanity has already suffered defeat.
Diablo franchise general manager Joe Shely explained during the announcement that the heroes are gone and Sanctuary has fallen. Diablo is the new ruler of the World.
Players don’t have to defend the cities and safe zones; instead, they need to explore a land where hope has vanished. Survival will be far more difficult now.
A more darker story
According to Blizzard, this game will feature a more darker narrative compared to the previous titles.
Senior producer Tiffany Watt explained that the game revolves around a central question:
“What must you become when the world has already fallen?”
Now, the Sanctuary is not safe, so players will be forced to make difficult choices. They need to seek dangerous powers and sacrifices to survive against the Diablo forces.
Big future ahead for the franchise
Apart from the Diablo 5 reveal, Blizzard is also supporting Diablo 4 with all the new, fresh content and seasons. The game is also arriving on Nintendo Switch 2. An all-new Amazon class is planned for the first half of 2027.
