Glen Schofield weighs in on EA’s rejection
Glen Schofield, the mastermind and creator behind the Dead Space franchise has recently shared his wish to continue the series. This horror game is known for its creativity, innovation and narrative emotions have been rejected by EA recently.
It appears that EA isn’t very interested in this project and wants to focus on somewhere else. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Why did EA reject Dead Space 4?
In a recent interview with YouTuber Dan Allen Gaming, Glen Schofield revealed the information about the franchise. He expressed his desire to continue the franchise with a fourth title.
Glen said, “We tried actually … Dead Space 4… I mean, we’re talking this year. They [EA] just said we’re uninterested right now. They know their numbers and what they have to ship.”
This statement clearly means that EA is more concerned with the financial situation and it has nothing to do with the creative exploration at the moment.
According to Chris Stone, Senior Director at EA, the present gaming business landscape is “in a weird place,” with companies hesitant to take risks. EA’s decision to abandon the Dead Space 2 remake after the first remake’s sales fell short of projections mirrored this caution.
Personally, I think we are seeing more remakes of the old games instead of any new creative titles or IPs. At one point, the fans and gaming community will get bored with the remakes and that’s a given.

What to expect?
Even the recent remake of the original Dead Space did not achieve much success that EA was hoping for. This might have given them some doubts about giving the green light for another project related to the franchise at this moment.
While the situation for Dead Space 4 appears bleak at the moment, fans should stay cautiously optimistic. Industry dynamics might vary, and EA’s stance may change in the future. Some suspect that Schofield’s participation may have been vetoed due to the poor reception of his most recent effort, The Callisto Protocol.
Glen Schofield and his team are still very interested in making the fourth title and they will instantly start the project if they get a green light. What are your thoughts about this situation and EA rejection? Do share your thoughts in the comment section.
