Bloodstained Ritual of the Night: Story & Gameplay

This is a pretty much a spiritual successor to Castlevania; Bloodstained (from Koji Igarashi) smashed a $5.5M Kickstarter.

Players follow the story of Miriam, a Shardbinder, who is trying to stop her ex-friend Gebel in a demon-packed castle.

Core hook: Shard system, steal enemy powers, customize combat (magic, melee, buffs). Has amazing 2.5D Gothic labyrinths, bosses and many secrets hidden.

This game was officially launched in 2019 for PS4/Xbox One/PC/Switch; later iOS/Android/Luna and has sold more than 2M+ copies by 2025.
