Mojang Studios recently hosted Minecraft Live 2026 and it was easily one of the biggest showcases of 2026. They have revealed new and exciting features that will be arriving in the game in the future.

Ice Caves revealed at Minecraft Live 2026
Ice Caves has been introduced, which are the new underground biome. This will be rare and explorers are going to enjoy their time in this icy region.
It will feature unique ice crystals, new environmental decorations, and a dangerous new enemy known as the Frozen Zombie.
The Shift: First new dimension
The other big thing announced was the introduction of a new dimension, called The Sift, which will be available in Minecraft Dungeons 2 first and will eventually roll out to the main game in 2027.
According to developers, this will be Minecraft’s first brand-new dimension in nearly 15 years. Also, this is the fourth dimension that has been introduced so far.

At Minecraft Live 2026, Minecraft Dungeons 2 was also showcased, as it is releasing on September 29, 2026.
The developers also announced future plans, DLC and expansions for this game as well.
Sound Packs, creator tools & more
New sound effects will also arrive in Minecraft Marketplace later this year. New development tools will also get added, which will provide more advance build experience.
Lastly, Minecraft Live had another opportunity to showcase the new attraction Minecraft World, which will soon be opening at Chessington World of Adventures, UK. The exhibit featured concept artwork of a hotel whose theme is Minecraft, in addition to the announced roller coaster.
