According to leaks, the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Hexe is actually named Anika. Her previous placeholder name was Elsa.

Moreover, the leaks claim that she is the descendant of Claudia Auditore, the sister of Ezio Auditore, who first appeared in Assassin’s Creed II.

However, this is not the only surprise, as the leaks also claim that Ezio might show up in the game and he might be mentoring Anika.

This game is rumored to take place during the German witch trials, which occurred long after Ezio’s death.

But the Assassin’s Creed series has already delved into supernatural and time-bending ideas before. In some previous games, characters would live for decades thanks to the power of Isu artifacts, and others would come to life “as a vision or a memory in the Animus.”
