The hype has been kicked for Formula One fans as the official F1 X account unveiled Lewis Hamilton—rocking Ferrari red—as the F1 25 Iconic Edition cover star.
A few hours later, a countdown trailer popped up on the EA Sports F1 YouTube channel, teasing Codemasters’ next lap since F1 24. However, there were some slip-ups as many fans were able to spot that the Iconic Edition is slated to release on May 27, 2025.

This premium edition is likely to get the earliest green light for players, reflecting previous titles’ early access bonuses.
The Standard Edition for F1 25 could be released on May 30, which corresponds to the May 31 release date of F1 24 last year. With only two days until the trailer drops—tomorrow, March 26—it’s time to see if Codemasters has addressed the handling issues that sparked fan outrage last time around.
What to expect from F1 25 Iconic Edition?
The official details for Iconic Edition have not been revealed yet, however, we can expect some amazing things from it. Hamilton’s Ferrari decision this season screams opportunity: imagine his classic McLarens and Mercedes returning, accompanied by historic F1 beasts. It would be a classy tribute to his career and the sport’s 75th-anniversary hype on X.
The famous gaming leaker Bilibili Kun has also reported the price of the game. According to him, the Standard Edition retails for $59.99 while the Iconic Edition will cost $79.99. Those who have purchased the Iconic edition will get a three-day early access.
