Despite Crimson Desert selling 2 million copies, Pearl Abyss has found themself once again in the another controversy. This time, it is related to the AI-generated images in the game.

Many fans and players on Reddit and other social media have found many images that appear to be AI-generated. This has soured the mood of many fans who really don’t like the usage of AI in the game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Crimson Desert AI art sparks debate

This all started when a Redditor found the AI art and uploaded it to social media. One of the most widely circulated pictures is a painting where horses are shown with oddly shaped legs, which is often associated with an AI-generated image.

Since then, many players have pointed out similar inconsistencies in other in-game artwork. Many of them have claimed that certain decorative elements, such as posters and character illustrations, all resemble the content that is created by the AI tools.

For now, Pearl Abyss has not spoken or released any statement regarding this accusation.

Fans are not happy with AI usage

There is no doubt that this has frustrated many fans on the internet. Everyone has raised the concern about this, while many of them have also started to refund the game.

Players are arguing that if the developers wanted to use the AI, they should have clearly disclosed this before the release of the game.

This had led to a serious backlash from many fans on the internet. Plus, there are already complaints about how the combat & controls mapping feels really clunky, many of them do not like the story and have started to refund the game.

Although Crimson Desert has managed to attract a large player base and has sold 2 million copies so far, the criticism and complaints are only getting louder on the internet.

This could ruin the game’s reputation in the long run. Pearl Abyss has responded that they are hearing player feedback and trying to work on the situation and new updates & fixes for the game.
