Fortnite Reload heading to EWC with $1M prize money

The fans are pretty excited as competitive Fortnite is heading back to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). Previously, the game took one year off, but now Epic Games has partnered once again with EWC to host the $1 million Reload Elite Series Championship.

This means that we are finally going to see the sweaty and best duos going all out at the global stage in August 2026. Let’s check out more details in this article.

These are the teams that have secured their spot through the first qualifier:

  • Phoenix & Retro
  • 916Gon & Night
  • Yuma & Koyota
  • 5aald & Mshary

  • Peterbot & Pollo

The remaining spots will be filled as we get closer to August 2026.

How teams qualify for Fortnite Esports World Cup?

In order to compete in the Reload Elite Series Championship, Fortnite gamers in seven various locations across the world have to complete four online qualifications first.

The initial qualifier (Q1) has already concluded and the top ten duos have become qualified. The other three qualifiers will also be held in the next several months, which means that 40 duos will be flying to Riyadh in total.

Qualifying spots per region

  • Europe – 3 per qualifier (12 total)
  • NA Central – 2 per qualifier (8 total)
  • NA West – 1 per qualifier (4 total)
  • Brazil – 1 per qualifier (4 total)
  • Asia – 1 per qualifier (4 total)
  • Middle East – 1 per qualifier (4 total)
  • Oceania – 1 per qualifier (4 total)

A total of 40 duos will compete for the $1 million prize pool at Esports World Cup 2026.
