When are the new Sprite variants dropping?

Epic Games is once again expanding its Sprites lineup in Chapter 7 Season 3. This time, it is with the arrival of Fortnite Gem Sprites. A new collectible companion that will provide additional gameplay benefits.

In the upcoming update, more Sprite variants will be added that will provide players more reason to explore the map properly and complete their Sprite collection.

Release date & time for Fortnite Gem Sprites

Epic Games has officially confirmed that Gem Sprites will be released on August 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM ET. This will be part of the New Sprite Day event.

During this event, players will be able to find this Sprite more frequently on the map. It will become much easier for players to collect the new Sprite variant before the spawn rates return to normal.

How many Gem Sprites will be available?

There will be nine Gem Sprites. The Gem Llama Sprite was already released with v41.30 and the other eight Gem Sprite variants will be released shortly after New Sprite Day event goes live.

In the event, players will be able to serve themselves all Gem variants to complete the Sprite Checklist.

Where to find Fortnite Gem Sprites?

After the new update, the Gem Sprites can be found inside the Sprite Chests that are located throughout the Chapter 7 Season 3 map.

You can also trade the Sprites with your friends, which is another way to complete the Sprite collection.

What do Gem Sprites do?

These Sprites can provide players with a 30% reduction in fall damage while equipped. This effect also stacks with the unique ability of each Sprite variant.

Let’s understand this with an example: Gem Demon Sprite provides health and Shield siphon after eliminations and will also reduce fall damage.
