5-year-long epic battle
After a long 5-year absence from the Apple Play Store in the US, Fortnite iOS version is finally back and fans are pretty excited for it.
Epic Games’ long feud with Apple seems to be finally getting resolved and now fans can step into the battle on their iPhone and iPad as well.
How to download Fortnite iOS?
Epic Games announced, “Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads… and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U!”
The game is currently available for download in the United States through the Apple App Store and in Europe through other platforms. Requirements include:
- iPhone: iOS 17.4 or later
- iPad: iPadOS 17.4 or later
- Storage: 576.6 MB of free space
Fans can search for Fortnite on their App Store, as it will start appearing as Apple starts indexing updates.

What’s next for Fortnite iOS?
This is a major victory for Epic Games, but they still need to face many challenges.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) recently charged Epic with unfair labor practices for employing artificial intelligence (AI) to imitate Darth Vader’s voice in Fortnite, citing ethical concerns.
Despite this, the game’s return to iOS is a triumph for those who want to team up on mobile.
In 2020, Fortnite was pulled from the App Store because of the payment policy. Epic’s attempt to sidestep Apple’s payment mechanism resulted in the game’s removal, igniting a legal dispute.
On May 9, 2025, Epic attempted to relaunch Fortnite on iOS, but Apple delayed the process with a lengthy assessment. Despite a US judge’s decision to allow the game’s reinstatement,.
Apple first removed Fortnite from the US App Store and the Epic Games Store in the EU. Epic confirmed that the game was unavailable until Apple complied, and following legal pressure, Apple finally approved the distribution.
Fortnite iOS return is a major victory for Epic Games and millions of players will now be able to play the game on their iPads and iPhones as well.
