Is it a copycat?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows which was scheduled to release on November 15, 2024, has been delayed to February 14, 2025. The developers believed that they needed more time to work on the game to make it look more polished and better.

Reactions from the community were almost positive as fans always wanted the game to be more polished, smooth and free of bugs. However, they recently released a new gameplay which looks amazing, but it will remind you of a game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

New gameplay released by devs

As you can see from the YouTube video above, the combat in Assassin’s Creed Shadows will remind you of Ghost of Tsushima. The stance, tension build, parrying, and attacks are pretty similar to those in the Sucker Punch game franchise.

I have seen many people commenting on how Ubisoft is literally ripping off everything from Ghost of Tsushima in order to make the game more playable for fans.

Personally, I don’t have any issues with this, and I have also seen many fans who think that at least Ubisoft is trying to make a game more entertaining to play. If you have played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will know what I mean.

The combat and gameplay now look a lot better, and you can easily say that delaying the game was a good decision by the developers.

To be honest, I was not interested in buying or playing this game. However, now that I’ve seen the improvements, I might give it a try. This is a smart move that might increase sales, although Ghost of Yotei is also releasing at the same time.

What to expect from gameplay?

Of course, that’s not all the information we have to share. There are many things that have been revealed about the gameplay and the combat system that fans can expect in the game.

  • Light, heavy, and charged assaults.
  • Certain acts, such as flawless dodge, will leave foes vulnerable.
  • Both characters can parry and deflect, but only Yasuke is capable of blocking.
  • Naoe weapons: This includes Katana, Kusarigama, Tanto, and Hidden Blade.
  • Yasuke weapons: Long katana, Naginata, Kanabo, Yumi Bow, Teppo Rifle.
  • Gain Mastery Points to unlock active abilities, passives, and combo modifiers.
  • Each character can equip two weapons, although only Yasuke can switch in the middle of a combo.
  • Naoe focuses on rapid, agile combat, and her weapons provide unique stealth chances.
  • Enemy kinds include outlaws, Ashigaru soldiers, Ronin, Samurai, Samurai Daisho, and Guardians.
  • Flurry Attacks: These relentless assault chains, marked with blue light, will continue to strike even if you parry, block, or deflect.
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have a ‘Canon Mode’ that will make all the correct RPG decisions for you.
