It can be a tease for PS6 as well
The highly anticipated GTA 6 trailer 2 just got released on May 6, 2025, taking the fans and gaming community by surprise.
Fans are excited about the teaser, which confirms Grand Theft Auto VI’s release date of May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
PlayStation fans, on the other hand, have even more reason to rejoice, as the teaser, shot exclusively on the PS5, strongly references Sony’s console.
PS5 cameo or PS6?
In a memorable scene, the trailer introduces Phil, who promotes his Ammu-Nation business.
Amid the mayhem, eagle-eyed viewers will spot a subtle but undeniable cameo: a console like the PS5, replete with a DualSense controller doppelganger, rests conspicuously on a coffee table.
The white console, with a black centerpiece and blue lighting strips, is the closest thing to a PS5 without any branding.
Many fans have also started to speculate that this might be the tease for PS6. GTA 6 trailer 2 was also captured on PS5.
This also emphasizes the Sony marketing partnership with Rockstar Games.

Why the PS5 emphasis?
This decision might be surprising for fans, but it’s nothing new between Rockstar and PlayStation. Grand Theft Auto has a long history with PlayStation.
Sony’s system is rumored to include GTA 6’s open-world visuals, which include 4K resolution, ray tracing, and DualSense capabilities such as haptic feedback.
The PS5 clip in the trailer shows optimal performance, providing PlayStation a marketing advantage over the Xbox Series X|S, despite the game’s simultaneous release on both platforms.
GTA 6 trailer 2 also revealed the game will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is no mention of PC for now.
