GTA 6 will not have microtransactions or Generative AI; Rockstar Games confirms

The game is all set to launch on November 19, 2026

Rockstar Games has now officially confirmed another major piece of information about GTA 6 that fans wanted to hear at all costs. The single-player story mode will not have any type of microtransactions involved and there is no generative AI used during the development of the game.

This game has been fully made by the developers and human craft. These updates have hyped up the fans and community even more before the full launch of the game on November 19, 2026.

No monetization involved in GTA 6 single-player story mode

During an interview with Kinda Funny Games, the host Andy Cortez asked Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson if the game would allow players to use real money in the world of GTA 6.

Rob Nelson answer was pretty straightforward: “No monetization.”

This has now confirmed that the single-player story campaign will not feature microtransactions, premium currencies, or in-game purchases.

You can experience the whole campaign story without worrying about any additional purchases or paid content that may affect the gameplay.

These are one-off, and not in-game monetization, as Rockstar is releasing multiple versions of GTA 6: an Ultimate Edition that includes bonus content and exclusive cosmetic access.

No Generative AI has been used in GTA 6

Another major question that was asked in the interview was about the use of Generative AI. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson has clearly said that “NO AI” was used in the game.

Every aspect of the game- the dense and interactive open world, insane visual fidelity, characters, dialogues, missions and every part of the game is handcrafted by the developers.

Conclusion

Although we have heard and seen so much about the single-player campaign in the game, we haven’t heard anything about the online multiplayer feature.

Rockstar Games is staying pretty quiet about GTA Online. They are all currently focused on the single-player campaign and showcasing the open-world features and their immersiveness.
