Hades 2 will first launch as Nintendo Switch 2 console exclusive game!

The most highly anticipated roguelike sequel, Hades 2, is gearing up for the full launch. The most surprising thing is that it is going to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 first.

PC gamers have already been enjoying early access since May 2024. However, PlayStation and Xbox fans will have to wait much longer now.

Hades 2 Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive on launch

On April 8, 2025, Nintendo America dropped a surprise announcement on the “Creator’s Voice” video on their official X channel.

They revealed that the highly anticipated Hades 2 will launch on the Switch 2 console exclusively on the launch day.

Supergiant Games also confirmed this and even stated that more information about this would come later this year.

To provide Nintendo fans with greater accessibility, Supergiant later explained on X that the game would also launch concurrently on the original Nintendo Switch.

In addition to its Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store). The exact release date for the game has not been announced yet.

What about PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

The fans and gamers who own PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, you don’t have to worry as Hades 2 will launch on consoles as well.

However, the specific release date has not been announced and it won’t be launching on the first day as well.

The first Hades arrived on PlayStation and Xbox roughly a year after its Switch debut. So, we can expect the same thing with the sequel as well, dropping around mid-to-late 2026.

Hades was a huge success when it debuted on PC and Nintendo Switch in September 2020. It sold over 1 million copies on the platform within its first year.

There was also help from the Nintendo Marketing and there is no doubt that SuperGiant Games wants to continue the same effect with Hades 2 as well.
