Bungie’s upcoming sci-fi PvP extraction shooter Marathon has been finally revealed and it’s creating hype everywhere.

The game is also gearing up for the closed alpha test. From the trailers, it appears that it’s going to challenge Escape from Tarkov in terms of difficulty.

When does Marathon Closed Alpha start?

The Closed Alpha is going to start on April 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM PDT (10:30 PM IST) and runs until May 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM PDT.

This has been confirmed by Bungie’s official FAQ page. The two tests will be strict under NDA, which means participants can’t share the gameplay or footage.

Invites will be sent out at the start of April 14, 2025, which will give a chance to more players to join the closed alpha test.

How to sign up for Marathon Closed Alpha?

Here’s how you can sign up for the Closed Alpha:

• Join the Discord server for Marathon: Accept the rules by going to the official server at discord.gg/marathonthegame.
• Sign up using the Bot: To get a link to the Bungie.net signup page, put /alpha into the #alpha_access channel and follow the instructions.
• Fill out the survey: Choose your favorite platform (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam) and fill out the survey with information on your PC specifications (if any), Bungie game experience, and PvP game familiarity.
• A code will be sent to you via email from marathonthegame@info.bungie.net if you are chosen. You must have a clean Bungie.net account free of security flaws and bans to use codes.

Platforms and Crossplay Support

The best part is that Bungie has already announced that the game will be arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. There will also be crossplay support in the game, which is just icing on the cake.

Although cross-save isn’t accessible during the test—you’re restricted to one platform per code—the alpha also enables crossplay.
