The map size is really huge with bigger landscapes. According to creative director Jonathan Dumont, the game is “roughly similar” to Assassin’s Creed Origins and covers approximately 80 km², similar to ancient Egypt but with a Japanese touch.

This is slightly less than Valhalla’s 94 km² sprawl, but still far larger than Mirage’s modest Baghdad. It is split into nine distinct provinces:

Shadows may take somewhat longer to explore than Valhalla’s England (about 120 km² with DLC) because of its challenging terrain, including steep peaks and no “follow road” shortcuts.
