The requirements for voice chat
- Age Verification: To use voice chat, you must be 13 years or older. Roblox asks you to verify your age by providing a valid ID or phone number.
- Enabled games: Not all Roblox games include voice chat; it is up to the developers to enable this function.

Enabling Voice Chat
- Verification Process: With ID
- Log into Roblox via the website or app.
- Go to “Settings” by clicking the cogwheel icon.
- Navigate to the “Account Info” tab.
- Click on “Verify My Age”.
- Follow the prompts to scan your ID. Roblox will use “liveness” and “likeness” checks to ensure your identity.
With Phone Number:
- If you prefer not to use an ID, you can verify with a phone number.
- In “Settings”, go to “Account Info”.
- Click “Add Phone” next to the phone number field, enter your number, and follow the verification steps.
Enabling Voice Chat in Roblox:
- After verification:
- Go back to “Settings”.
- Under “Microphone and Camera Input”, find the option for voice chat in the Beta Features section.
- Toggle the button to ON (it will turn green).
In-Game Activation:
- Once enabled, in a game that supports voice chat, you’ll see a microphone icon.
- You can toggle voice chat on/off by clicking the microphone icon above your avatar or through the in-game settings menu.
Roblox has a strict policy regarding voice chat misuse. To avoid bans, ensure that you obey the platform’s regulations. It also employs artificial intelligence to monitor voice conversations for improper content, such as tone of voice.
